Buenos Aires Bars & PubsThere are two types of bars in Argentina. One is the pub-type bar that is typical of what bars are known for; a dim-lighted establishment where one usually goes to drink, socialize, and listen to music. The other is the cafe-type bar, where drinks are still served, yet the establishment resembles more of a restaurant or cafe than anything else. The latter places can be quite bland and are usually best enjoyed when wanting to people watch at a sidewalk cafe, enjoy a bottle of wine, or for a quick refreshing beverage. If you want to grab a bite to each while having a pint, many pubs offer small menus with sandwiches, appetizers, and picadas. Picadas are trays of cold cuts, cheeses, olives, breads, and other items that are perfect for having something to nibble on while socializing with friends. Many people who do not want a wild night yet still want to go out, will get some friends together just to go have a picada and a beer. You should enjoy a picada at least once on your trip to Argentina.
